In 1997 Terry Fox was diagnosed with cancer in 1977 after he was in a car accident. Shortly after they had to amputate  his left leg above the nee and he had to learn how to live with a prostatic one. Terry decided that in 1889 he was going to walk from one side of the country to the other so he and his brother set out and while Terry walked his brother followed closing behind in a van to meet his needs while he was walking. However, while they were going through thunder bay Terry's cancer got really bad and he passed away. Now you can go his monument  in Thunder bay and we have a replica at our museum.
