Sports in History

1980's

Ben Johnston was a famous runner in the 1980's, he won five gold medals, two silver and three bronze. However he was being accused of using steroids, he tried to deny it but eventually got caught with using steroids and got disqualified from most of his races. This was very important socially because they actually found out that a lot of other racers were on steroids as well. At our museum you watch some of his races like the one down below.

1970-1990's

Wayne Gretzky was a famous hockey player born in Brantford Ontario. He played 20 seasons in NHL with four different teams including the Edmonton Oilers, Los Angles Kings, St louis Blues and New York Rangers. Between these four teams he held 61 NHL records, still holding 60 of them to this day. If you come to our museum you have to check out the Wayne Gretzky exhibit where we have the hockey stick he used to play his first game.

1914-1935

George Herman "Babe" Ruth Jr was a baseball player from 1914-1935. He played for the Boston Red Sox  New York Yankees and Boston Braves.  In 1927 Babe Ruth hit 60 home runs in one season however he retired shortly after in 1935 and passed away in 19478.
